From the outset, Pomar do Espírito Santo has been a wine made according to the personal taste of ManzWine’s owner, André Manz. A wine with great freshness, gastronomic, well balanced between fruit and barrel aging, made only with traditional grapes from the Cheleiros region.
Grapes: 50% Touriga Nacional; 30% Aragonês and 20% Castelão.
Winemaker As: Ricardo Noronha.
Soil: Clay-limestone.
Climate: Mediterranean climate influenced by the Atlantic.
Process: The grapes were destemmed, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. Pre-fermentation maceration. Maturation in French and American oak follows for 12 months. Aged in bottle for minimum 6 months.
Color: Ruby red color.
Flavor: Elegant and complex, showing ripe fruit aromas combined with pleasant spice notes.
Palate: Full bodied and aromatic. Tannins are elegant and in harmony with aromatic complexity of the fruity and spicy aromas. Great acidity, which induces freshness and great ageing potential.
Gastronomy: Pairs well with cheese and roasted meat.
Serve at temperature: 16ºC – 18ºC.
